Magic Kingdom is laid out like a wheel, with the hub centered directly in front of the towering Cinderella Castle. Cinderella Castle is the Parks’ icon, and it’s become an icon of the company as a whole as well. “The Most Magical Place on Earth” opened on October 1, 1971. You don’t want to arrive and be slowed down just trying to figure out where you need to go next and how to get there. I recommend reviewing the park map to at least know the general direction of each of the lands prior to your first visit. Disney park maps are a great way to get the lay of the land.
